The WorkSafeBC Board of Directors will be finalizing the 2025 employer premium rates in October. Ahead of that, the preliminary rates are now available onwww.WorkSafeBC.com/rates.
For 2025, the average base premium rate is proposed to remain unchanged at 1.55 percent of employers’ assessable payroll. This compares to an average expected cost for 2025 of 1.75 percent. Rates continue to remain stable as WorkSafeBC draws on its strong financial position, holding the average cost rate below the average cost of claims.
Each year, the costs in some rate groups go up, some go down and others stay the same. In 2025, 59 percent of employers in B.C. are projected to experience a decrease in their industry base rate, 33 percent will see their industry base rate increase, and 8 percent will see no change.
